11th Russian Industrial Exhibition ‘EXPO ─ Russia ─ Jordan 2013’ Takes Place in Amman City, Jordan

The 11^th Russian Industrial Exhibition ‘EXPO ─ Russia ─ Jordan 2013’ took place on 11^th – 13^th March 2013 at the Le Meridien Hotel exhibition center.

‘Zarubezh-Expo’ PLC and the World Funds International Association were the exhibition organizers. The exhibition was held with the assistance of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, the Russian Federation Embassy in Jordan, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Iraq Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Federation Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Jordan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, etc.

The aim of the exhibition is to extend economic relations between the Russian Federation and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and to develop trilateral cooperation between Jordan, Iraq and Russia.

The main thematic sections of the exhibition are: Power Industry, Engineering Industry, Oil and Gas, Chemistry, Telecommunications and Communications, Agriculture, Tourism, Construction Industry, Pharmacology and Health Care.

The Russian Federation Ambassador in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr. Kalugin, Minister of Industry and Trade H.E. Dr. Hatem Hafez Al Halawani, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Jordanian part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Senator H.E. Mr. Nael Al Kabariti, Deputy Chairman, Director of the Russian Part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council Mr. Kononenko, Chairman of the Exhibition Organizing Committee Mr. Vartanov, and other officials from Jordan’s Departments and Agencies, Heads of Russian, Jordanian and Iraqi companies attended the official opening ceremony of the 11^th Russian Industrial Exhibition ‘EXPO ─ Russia ─ Jordan 2013’.

Over 50 Russian enterprises participated directly and with their expositions in the exhibition, including State Corporation ‘Rosatom’, ‘Magnitogorsk Hardware and Sizing Plant ‘MMK-METIZ’ PLC, Research and Production Company ‘Geoelektronika Servise’ CC (Tver City), Meschersky Scientific-Technical Center (Ryazan City), Yaroslavskiy Electric Machine Building Plant (‘Eldin’ PLC), Gavrilov-Yamskiy Machine Building Plant ‘AGAT’ PLC (Yaroslavl Oblast), ‘Intertrans’ CC, State Research and Design Institute of Basic Chemistry (‘NIOCHIM’), State Transportation Leasing Company (‘GTLK’), Russian Pharmaceutical Holding Company ‘STADA CIS’, Pharmaceutical Company ‘Nizhpharm’, ‘Almas-Invest’ Ltd., Company ‘Altair’ (Moscow City), Company ‘AMICO’ (X-ray Systems Plant in Aprelevka CC, RENTGENPROM JSC, RENTGEN-KOMPLEKT Ltd.), ‘Big Salts Restoration Treatment Hospital’ PLC (Yaroslavl Oblast), some companies and business enterprises from the Yaroslavl oblast and Smolensk oblast, etc.

A number of meetings, conferences and round-table discussions were arranged during the exhibition. The meeting at the Jordan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources aimed at discussing prospects of reinforcing the cooperation between Russia and Jordan in the energy sector, including atomic energy as well as employment of energy-saving technologies. The participants of the meeting at the Jordan Ministry of Health focused on the matters concerning the Russian-Jordanian collaboration in the area of providing high-technology medical services.

Relying on the results of the exhibition it may safely be said that the event achieved its goal, i.e. to reinforce further economic cooperation between Russia and Jordan as well as to consolidate a positive image of the Russian Federation in Arab countries.

For a valuable contribution to development of trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation and friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan the Executives of ‘Zarubezh-Expo’ PLC, Mr. Vartanov, Mrs. Zabelina and Mr. Nikolaev, who have been arranging the Russian Industrial Exhibition in Jordan for 11 years at a stretch, were awarded with the medals of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council ‘For Contribution to Development of Russian-Jordanian Economic and Friendly Relations between Russia and Jordan’. The medals were presented to them by Deputy Chairman, Director of the Russian Part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council Mr. Kononenko on behalf of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council.
