A grain processing company from Altai is going to export its flour to Jordan as a part of a school meal project of the United Nations World Food Programme. The first deliveries are going to be made this year.
Nowadays the only flour, which is exported from Russia within the United Nations programs framework, is the one produced in Altai region. Total export of the Altai Flour Mills company within the United Nations World Food Programme framework reaches 13 thousand tons of flour. The grain processing company Altai Flour Mills has been taking part in the UN projects for a few years already. It exports flour, buckwheat and vegetable oil to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
The World Food Programme is the largest structure in the United Nations Organization system. It is the food aid arm. The World Food Programme has been helping to the starving population all over the world since 1962. The organization uses voluntary donations to finance its humanitarian projects and social development projects. The World Food Programme constantly provides food aid in emergency situations as well as implements programs focused on the most vulnerable society sectors such as school meal programs and support of people at critical times in their lives.
