II Joint Meeting of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council in Amman

II Joint Meeting of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council was held in Amman, Jordan, Holiday Inn Hotel, on March 19, 2008.

The Russian Part was represented by Mr. Evgeniy Novitsky, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Russian Part, Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Russian Part, Mr. George Zraikat, Secretary General of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Mr. Vladislav Lutsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Arab Business Council, Mr. S.Petukhov, Director of the Department of Ministry of Economical Development and Trade, Mr. M.Slobodnyak, Commercial Officer of Embassy of Russia in Jordan, Mr. Tursun Akhunov, Director General of Yaroslavl Electric Machine Factory “ELDIN”, Mr. V.Maksetskiy, Director General of “Retemp”, Mr. G.Trigubovich, Deputy Director General of Siberian Institute of Geology, Geophysics, and Mineral Resources, Mr.S.Vasilyev, Director General of “MEDIUS”, Mr. V.Dyakov, Director General of “Ekoflon”, Mr. A.Nikitin, Director General of “Steklonit”, representatives of “Russian Railways”, “KAMAZ”, “Zarubezhneft”, “URALVAGONZAVOD”, Combine Factory “Rostselmash”, Factory-farm enterprise “Yug Rusi”, “ECOTECH-MOSKVA”, etc.

The Jordanian Part was represented by Mr. Haider Murad, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Jordanian Part, Mr. Hatem Halawani, Chairman of Jordan chamber of Industry, Mr. Fathi Sughayer, Member of Amman Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mohammad Ammar, Director General of Amman Chamber of Commerce, Yanal Bustami, First Vice-President of Jordan chamber of Commerce, Mr. Nazal El Armouty, Second Vice-President of Jordan chamber of Industry, Mr. Nael Kabariti, Chairman of Aqaba Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Abdulah Salah, Chairman of Maan Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Maher Al Nasser, Board Member of Jordan Chamber of Industry, Mr. Thabet El Wir, Board Member of Jordan Chamber of Industry, Mr. Rymon Halteh, Vice-President of Zarqa Chamber of Industry, Mr. Ibrahim Nauri, President of Nauri-Group

The agenda of the meeting was as follows:

1. Introductory Speech by Mr. Haider Murad, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Jordanian Part

2. Introductory Speech by Mr. Evgeniy Novitsky, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Russian Part

3. Discussion of the state of trade, economical, scientific and technical, investment and financial cooperation, assessment of the state and the steps taken for the future development of the two-way relationship.

4. Information about VII Russian Industrial Exhibition “Expo-Russia 2008”.

5. Working on the main directions of the joint actions. General concepts and strategies of he Council’s activities. Planning and sequencing the events. Approval of the work program of the Council for 2008.
6. Approval of the structure, co-chairmen and members of two-sided committees of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council.

7. Official presentation of the website of the Council.

8. Other issues.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Evgeniy Novitsky, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Russian Part, Mr. Haider Murad, Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Jordanian Part, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Hatem Halawani, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Industry signed the Protocol of II Joint Meeting of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council.

The decision on the new Structure of the Council and two-sided committees was also made during the meeting.

At the meeting of the Russian Part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council chaired by Mr. Evgeniy Novitsky, the members of the Russian Part considered the list of candidates of additional members of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and two-sided committees. After the detailed discussion of the candidates the following decisions were taken:

1. Introduce Mr. Tursun Akhunov, Director General of Yaroslavl Electric Machine Factory “ELDIN” to the membership of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and appoint Mr. Akhunov the Chairman of Industry Committee, Russian Part.

2. Introduce Mr. V.Maksetskiy, Director General of “Retemp” to the membership of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and appoint Mr. Maksetskiy the Chairman of Information and Innovation Technologies, Telecommunications Committee, Russian Part.

3. Appoint Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Chairman of the Committee of Tourism, Culture, Religion, and cooperation with public organizations, Russian Part.

4. Appoint Mr. David Vartanov, President of “Zarubezh-Expo”, Chairman of Exhibition Committee, Russian Part.
