King confident in country’s ability to overcome challenges

AMMAN (Petra) – His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday said that the best interests of the country and its citizens, along with reform and comprehensive development, are his top priorities.

“I would like to assure everybody that our drive is achieving its goals,” the King told Bani Sakher tribesmen and dignitaries who converged at the Royal Court to assert their support for the reform efforts led by the King, foremost of which are the recently endorsed constitutional amendments.

Welcoming the tribesmen and expressing his pride in them, King Abdullah said: “Your standing here today expresses your genuine sense of belonging and your courageous positions towards your homeland.”

“My confidence in your dedication and loyalty to Jordan is endless,” the King told the representatives, emphasising their great sacrifices for the country.

King Abdullah also expressed his confidence in the country’s future and its ability to overcome all challenges.

“I have great confidence in Jordan’s future and we will be able, with God’s help, to overcome all challenges and build the best future for all Jordanians,” King Abdullah told the tribesmen, who voiced their support for the country’s reform process.

Tribal leaders, including Lower House Speaker Faisal Fayez, Jamal Khreisha, Zeid Al Zheir and retired Lt. General Miteb Zaben, took the podium to confirm their loyalty and “steadfast position against anyone who attempts to hinder the country’s drive towards reform”.
