RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director Mr. Kononenko Meets Secretary General of Jordan Ministry of Transport H.E. Mr. Dababneh

On 18th February 2015 Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) Deputy Chairman&Director Mr. Valeriy Kononenko had a business meeting with Secretary General of the Jordan Ministry of Transport H.E. Mr. Laith Dababneh at the Jordan Ministry of Transport.

To start with, the participants of the meeting discussed a current state of the joint project involving the ‘Russian Railroad Corporation’ plc. in modernization and construction of the railways in Jordan. In the course of the discussion about the most important and fundamental issues on the matter both parties specified the positions they adhere to.

Due to the unstable geo-political situation in the region the negotiators paid special attention to the issues regarding the delivery of agricultural commodities from Jordan to a Russia’s territory. In particular, the parties discussed some new delivery routes via Israel and the sea port in Haifa as well as the possibility to perform carriage by air by means of a Jordanian Cargo air carrier and a Russian freight air service transport.

In the end, the negotiators pre-agreed with the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission the possibility to increase shipping operations performed by the freight air service transport in a Jordan’s air space.
