Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council, meets with Jordan Ministry of Water and Irrigation Mr. Raed Abu Soud

Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council, was in Jordan on a business trip from June 27 till July 1.  Mr. Kononenko had an official meeting with Water and Irrigation Minister Mr. Raed Abu Soud on a commission from the Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council Mr. E.Novitsky.  First Vice-Minister, Secretary General Mr. Munir Oweis also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting Jordanian part gave a detailed analysis of water supply, water and irrigation systems in Jordan.  Both sides discussed the possibility of applying Russian technologies for increasing the productivity of natural ecosystems, development of melioration, irrigation and water systems, including reserved water and melioration systems for irrigation and other purposes.

Both sides came to an agreement about holding a joint meeting of a group of Jordanian and Russian specialists and experts in 2008 for working out best ways of cooperation in this field.
