Russian-Jordanian Business Council

The first meeting concerning the foundation of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council took place in the Chamber of Commerce in Jordan on February 13, 2007 at 10 a.m.

Mr. Salem Al-Khazaleh, Jordan Minister of Industry and Trade, and Mr. Issa Gammoh, President of Jordan Investment Management, represented Jordanian part at the meeting, as well as the following members of the Council:

• Haider Murad, Chairman of Jordan chamber of Commerce;
• Hatem Halawani, Chairman of Jordan chamber of Industry;
• Yanal Bustami, First Vice-President of Jordan chamber of Commerce; First Vice-President of Amman Chamber of Commerce;
• Nazal El-Armouty, Second Vice-President of Jordan chamber of Industry;
• Nael Kabariti, Board Member of Jordan chamber of Commerce; Chairman of Aqaba Chamber of Commerce;
• Abdulah Salah, Board Member of Jordan chamber of Commerce; Chairman of Maan Chamber of Commerce;
• Nayef Ghaith, Board Member of Jordan chamber of Commerce;
• Fathi Sughayer, Board Member of Amman Chamber of Commerce;
• Maher Al Nasser, Board Member of Jordan chamber of Commerce;
• Thabet El Wir, Board Member of Jordan chamber of Commerce;
• Rymon Halteh, Vice-President of Zarqa Chamber of Commerce.

С Российской Russian Part was represented by the following members of the Council: Novistky Evgeniy G., Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Sistema-Invest”, Metshin I.R., Head of Municipal Education in Kazan, George Al Zraikat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Pinacotes Finance & Trade Group” and

• Manturov D.V., Director General of “OboronProm”;
• Artyakov V.V., President of “AVTOVAZ”;
• Voznesensky V.A., Director General of “Sistema-Invest”;
• Cheremin S.E., Vice-President of “Sistema”;
• Arutyunov A.B., President of “Intourist”.

Slobodnyak M.A., an official of the Embassy of Russia in Jordan, also took part in the meeting. The participants of the meeting discussed the following agenda:

• Introductory speech by the Jordanian Part
• Introductory speech by the Russian Part
• Declaration of the foundation of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council
• Appointment of co-chairmen of the Council
• Discussion of the work program of the Council
• Setting up frequency and place of the meetings for the Council

The participants of the meeting also discussed the perspectives of strengthening and widening of trade and economic, scientific and technological relations between Jordanian and Russian enterprises and companies in order to establish closer contacts between Jordanian and Russian businessmen, as well as to create joint investment companies.

The Agreement on Foundation of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council was signed on the same day at 12:30 p.m. in Basman Royal Palace by Senator Haider Murad, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Novistsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Sistema-Invest”.

Dr. George Al Zraikat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Pinacotes Finance & Trade Group”, was appointed Secretary General.
