VII Joint Session of Russian-Jordanian Business Council Takes Place in St. Petersburg, Russia

The Seventh Joint Session of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) took place on May 30th, 2013 in St. Petersburg (at the exhibition center ‘LenExpo’) within the framework of the Third International Exhibition ‘Arabia-EXPO 2013’.

The Russian Part was represented at the Session by: Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Chairman of the Board of ‘Sistema-Invest’, PLC, Mr. Novitsky; Deputy Chairman, Director of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council Mr. Kononenko; Head of the Jordan Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mr. Aslanov; Foreign Economic Activity Director of the Russian Institute of Power Radio Building (‘RIPR’), PLC, Mr. Vasilyev; Director General of the Yaroslavl Electric Machine Building Plant ‘Eldin’, PLC, Mr. Akhunov; Director General of the company ‘Sakha Taas’ Ms. Soltys; Head of the company ‘Intourist’ Ms. Frolova; CEO of ‘SITTEC’, CC, Ms. Dmitrieva; Head of the ‘Expo 2020 Bid Committee’, ANO, Mr. Vyakhirev; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Scientific Production Company ‘Geoelektronika Service’, CC, Mr. Popov; Director General of ‘GLAVSNAB-A’, LLC (the Dead Sea Cosmetics), Mr. Demyanchuk; Director of the Russian Culture Devotees Women Club ‘Nadezhda’ in Jordan Mrs. Kisilyova-Omar, and other participants of the exhibition.

The Seventh Joint Session of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council

To start with, the participants of the RJBC Joint Session discussed the matters concerning further development of bilateral relations in the areas of trade and economic, scientific and technical, as well as investment cooperation. After that, they gave particular attention to collaboration in various fields, including water-supply engineering, power industry, renewable energy sources, transportation, health care services, processing industry, agriculture, tourism, medical tourism, IT and telecommunications sector, pharmaceutical and cosmetics (the Dead Sea products) industry; and, finally, focused on the expansion of investment activity.

To sum up the results of the Council’s Session, the parties signed the Minutes of the VII Joint Meeting of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council.

The Minutes was signed by Chairman of the Russian Part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council Mr. Novitsky; Head of the Jordanian Delegation, Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Industry H.E. Mr. Ziad B. Al Homsi; and Board member of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce H.E. Mr. Ala El Din Diranieh.
