On 18^th April 2012 at the Jordan Ministry of Transport Deputy Chairman of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) Mr. Valeriy Kononenko had a business meeting with Secretary General of the Jordan Ministry of Transport HE Mr. Laith Dababneh. HE Mr. Ammar Jarrar, Adviser to the Minister of Finance of Jordan, attended the meeting as well.

The participants of the meeting discussed the matters concerning the participation of the ‘Russian Railroad Corporation’ plc. in modernization and construction of the railways in Jordan. Further to the agreements reached, those on both sides of the negotiating table, first of all, dealt with a list of supplementary points regarding the structural and technical aspects of the project, the terms of project financing as a whole and investment attractiveness of quite a few segments of the infrastructure development project. Secondly, in the course of the discussion the parties paid special attention to questions about the succession of the investment, guarantees for refunds and use of other financial instruments, which are supposed under this project.

In the end, the negotiators focused on further mutually advantageous cooperation between the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and the Jordan Ministry of Transport in the sphere of coordination of joint Russian-Jordanian projects both in a Russia’s territory and in a Jordan’s territory.
