RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director Mr. Kononenko Meets Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Ziad Kh. Al-Majali

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Ziad Kh. Al-Majali, RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director Mr. Kononenko

On June 5^th, 2014 Deputy Chairman, Director of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) Mr. Kononenko had a business meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Russian Federation H.E. Mr. Ziad Kh. Al-Majali on the occasion of the 68th Anniversary of the Independence Day of Jordan.

On behalf of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and on his own behalf Mr. Kononenko congratulated the Ambassador on the 68th Anniversary of the Independence Day of Jordan and awarded H.E. Mr. Ziad Kh. Al-Majali with a Medal ‘For Contribution to Development of Economic and Friendly Relations between Russia and Jordan’. The Ambassador, for his part, thanked Mr. Kononenko for the greetings and the attention paid by the Russian-Jordanian Business Council to development of mutually advantageous relations between businessmen from both countries in the area of trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation and expressed hope for further fruitful and constructive collaboration between the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Russian Federation and the Russian-Jordanian Business Council.

Also, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of recreational, medical, historical and pilgrimage tourism.

The negotiators devoted undivided attention to further development of pilgrimage tourism in order to boost the Jordan religious tourist attractions’ popularity taking into consideration the fact that the Russian Pilgrim Residence, which was constructed by the Russian Federation at the sacred place of the Baptism of Christ on the river Jordan, operates more actively. In addition, Mr. Kononenko and H.E. Mr. Ziad Al-Majali agreed on a list of events for Years 2014─2015 aimed at brisking up the work in the abovementioned scope of activities.

To sum up, the participants in the talks emphasized the necessity to intensify further cooperation between the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in order to coordinate joint Russian-Jordanian projects implemented both in a Russia’s and Jordan’s territories.
