RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director Mr. Kononenko Meets Jordan Chamber of Commerce Chairman H.E. Mr. Al-Kabariti

On 15th September 2014 Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) Deputy Chairman&Director, Mr. Kononenko, had a business meeting with Jordan Chamber of Commerce Chairman, H.E. Mr. Al-Kabariti, at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce’s premises.

In the first place, in the name of RJBC Chairman, Mr. Novitsky, and on his own behalf, Mr. Kononenko felicitated H.E. Mr. Nael Al-Kabariti on the occasion of his re-election for the second term to the high and responsible post of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce Chairman, and wished His Excellency further success in joint projects aimed at development of mutually beneficial cooperation and reinforcement of friendly ties between Russia and Jordan.

H.E. Mr. Al-Kabariti, for his part, noted a positive role of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council in expanding and further strengthening of business ties between Russian and Jordanian companies regardless of their form of ownership.

In the course of the negotiations, the participants of the meeting discussed a current state of the Russian-Jordanian cooperation in the trade and economic, scientific and technical areas. In particular, the parties considered the export promotion of the Dead Sea products as well as pharmaceutical and medical products from Jordan to Russia. Special attention was paid to export of agricultural sector production to Russia.

Furthermore, the parties reached an agreement that a Jordanian Vegetable and Fruit Producers’ Delegation would be composed in order to pay a visit to the Russian Federation in November 2014. The Delegation, which will be headed by Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, H.E. Mr. Nael Al-Kabariti, is to have a meeting with the major Russian wholesalers, retailers and the owners of the leading Russian trading chains, which is planned to be held with the participation of the Russian Federation Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Fedorov.

In the course of the talks, it was found out that the main trouble in agricultural commodities prompt and timely delivery to Russia is lack of an appropriate logistics at the present moment. In this connection, in order to ensure a due success of the forthcoming planned visit, the negotiators made a decision to elaborate and propose solutions on the issue in the nearest future in order to specify the most optimal delivery route and method for the Jordanian agricultural commodities to be exported from Jordan to Russia.

In conclusion, Jordan Chamber of Commerce Chairman, H.E. Mr. Al-Kabariti, expressed content with the Russian-Jordanian Business Council’s positioning in the Russian-Jordanian relations aimed at deepening the scientific and technological collaboration as well as arranging events dealing with various areas of cooperation and helping to establish a bilateral dialogue, to promote further development of business, social and political, and cultural contacts.

In response, RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director, Mr. Kononenko, on behalf of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and on his own behalf, gave a high appraisal of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce’s activities and personally of its Chairman, H.E. Mr. Nael Al-Kabariti, in the abovementioned cooperation fields and wished His Excellency further success in his work to the benefit of people from both Russia and Jordan.
