RJBC Deputy Chairman&Director, Chairman of RJBC Commission for Tourism, Culture and Religion Mr. Kononenko Meets Head of Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem Archimandrite Alexandre

 On 21st December 2018 at the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, the Russian-Jordanian Business Council (RJBC) Deputy Chairman and Director, Chairman of the RJBC Commission for Tourism, Culture and Religion, Mr. V.A. Kononenko, had a working meeting with Head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Alexandre.

 The participants of the meeting discussed cooperation between the RJBC Commission for Tourism, Culture and Religion and the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, including further promotion of the Russian Pilgrim’s Residence, situated at the Christ’s Baptism Site on the river Jordan, and further development of the pilgrimage tourism between Russia, Israel and Jordan.

 They noted with satisfaction their successful joint efforts and fruitful collaboration with the Jordan Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, the Christ’s Baptism Site Complex on the river Jordan, some tourist companies as well as the Dead Sea Coast and the Red Sea Coast Hotels Directorates, which has already resulted in a considerable increase in number of both Orthodox Church pilgrims and other religious denominations pilgrims.

 To sum up, the participants of the meeting specified further cooperation areas of mutual interest and events aimed at further strengthening of Orthodoxy in the Holy Land and the land of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
