Business Meeting of Kononenko V. A., RJBC Deputy Chairman, with Dr. Montaser Oklah, Secretary General of Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade

The meeting of Kononenko V.A., the Russian-Jordanian Business Council Deputy Chairman, with Dr. Montaser Oklah, Secretary General of the Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade, took place at the Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The matters concerning the state of the Russian-Jordanian interactions in the spheres of trade, economy, science, technology and innovations were discussed. The results of the VIII Russian Industrial Exhibition “Expo-Russia 2009”, which was held on 18th – 20th March in Amman (Jordan), were summarized.

At the suggestion of Kononenko V.A., the Russian Federation Governmental Regulation № 803 of 01/11/2008 ‘On Approval of Regulations of Administration of Russian Federation State Guarantees in Foreign Currency to Render Government Assistance to Industrial Product Export’ was considered and discussed at the meeting. Under the ‘Specification’ the maximum volume of guaranteeing for the Russian export to Jordan is 500 million in US dollars.

In the Secretary General’s opinion, this Governmental Regulation is very timely and of paramount importance because this will make it possible to increase the actual bilateral trade between our countries.

At the present time the rules and regulations of this Governmental Regulation require careful consideration. Also the coordination of the particular acts and interactions between the relevant Russian and Jordanian Ministries, Offices, Departments and business community representatives is needed.

The matters concerning the possible interaction between the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including the collaboration under the abovementioned Russian Federation Governmental Regulation, were talked over.

An agreement to hold at the Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade a meeting of the Russian Businessmen Delegation, the participants of the VIII Russian Industrial Exhibition ‘Expo-Russia 2009’, with Dr. Montaser Oklah, Secretary General of the Jordan Ministry of Industry and Trade, was reached.
