Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council meeting with Mr. Radi A. Tarawneh, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Jordan, Secretary General, Mr. Ghaith Bakri, Export Promotion Director of Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, and officials from Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Jordanian Part of Russian-Jordanian Business Council

Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council had an official meeting with Mr. Radi A. Tarawneh, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Jordan, Secretary General in the Jordan Ministry of Agriculture.   Mr. Mohammad T. Rousan, Director of Public Relations and Information Department, and Mr. Falah Ibrahim Salah,  Director of Agricultural Economic Policies and International Cooperation Department, also took part in the meeting.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:  participation of Jordanian companies from agricultural sector in the I Arab Exhibition “Arabia-Expo” in Moscow on October 22-24, 2008; possible support of Jordanian export of agricultural products to Russia; possible mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of restoration of land fertility and development of irrigation systems on the territory of Jordan using Russian technologies.

The participants of the meeting considered a tentative agreement in order to coordinate the actions of both parties in these fields.  One of the main articles of this tentative agreement is organizing a joint meeting of the Jordan Ministry of Agriculture, the Committee of Agriculture, Water and Irrigation of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, as well as experts in these fields, and those Russian and Jordanian businessmen, who are interested in taking part in the meeting.

Mr. Valeriy Kononenko, Deputy Chairman of Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Russian Part, met with Mr. Fathi Sughayer, Secretary of Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Jordanian Part.  Mr. Muhannad L. Attar, a member of the Jordanian Part of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council, Director General of Amman Chamber of Commerce, also took part in the meeting.

The participants discussed the current activities of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council and the questions concerning the organization of the III Joint Meeting of Russian-Jordanian Business Council in Moscow in October 2008.

A special attention was drawn to the question of Jordanian companies taking part in the I Arab Exhibition “Arabia-Expo” in Moscow on October 22-24, 2008. Both parties agreed to take a special control over the organization of the exhibition.

The issue of perspective cooperation with different regions of Russia in the framework of the Russian-Jordanian Business Council was also discussed during the meeting.

Mr. Valeriy Kononenko had an official meeting with Export Promotion Director of Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation Mr. Ghaith Bakri.  Mrs. Fatima Homsi Al-Dajani, the coordinator of the exhibition from Jordanian part, also participated in the meeting.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:  cooperation of both parties in organizing the I Arab Exhibition “Arabia-Expo” in Moscow; completing a list of the companies taking part in the exhibition and the members of the official delegation from Jordan at the opening ceremony.  A special attention was paid to how well the exhibitors had prepared for the exhibition and undergone all customs formalities.  Both parties also discussed official events, exhibition opening and closing ceremonies, conference topics, meetings of two-sided committees that will be held during the I Arab Exhibition.
